ABOUT THE WRITER/PERFORMER

Melanie studied Performing Arts in Melbourne, Australia.

She has appeared in various musicals and plays such as Kid Stakes (Olive), Oklahoma (Ado Annie), Laura (Laura), Bye Bye Birdie (Rose Alvarez), Dinkum Assorted (Vi), Yerma (Crazy Girl), The Sentimental Bloke (Rose), Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (Sarah Kines), The Best Laid Schemes (June), The Boyfriend (Maisie), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Puck), Into The Woods (Florinda) and A Christmas Carol.

Indulging in her secret love of sparkles, feathers, vinyl dresses, beehive wigs and false eye lashes, Melanie also sung in her own 60s tribute show ‘The Fabulous Shoop Shooops’ for 5 years at casinos, hotels, clubs, festivals and corporate and private functions around Australia and Indonesia. TV credits include Aussie soap Neighbours and dramas such as Janus and The Feds and she has featured in various commercials, corporate training films and voiceovers.

Confessions & Obsessions of a Thirty Something Divorcee is Melanie’s first one woman show.
